The plot is unique, but relies heavily on the paranormal.

Kenyon likes to reveal partial scenarios without giving too much away. Nick's sarcastic demeanor prompted a few laughs, and the mystery definitely kept me turning pages. "Infinity: Chronicles of Nick" begins a new series, a spin-off of Sherrilyn Kenyon's "Dark-Hunter" books. Still, Nick's life is a little more complicated than most students' because before the reader can blink a few times, he's fighting off zombies and working for a mysterious man with far too much dough. He copes with everything you would expect from a high school freshman: popularity contests, girls and solidifying his identity.

Considering he's been raised by one of the barely clad women working Bourbon Street and has a homicidal father, Nick is a pretty decent kid. At first glance, Nick Gautier is just your average tacky New Orleans teen.
